The Absorber: FAQs
What is The Absorber Dog Towel? How does it work?
A: The Absorber is different from any other microfiber bath towel or chamois on the market. It's very soft and gentle, and easy to work with. You'll find The Absorber to work much faster than anything else when drying your dog. With very little effort, The Absorber's sponge-like material dries your dog quickly and easily!
Another great thing about The Absorber is that it changes colors when it becomes wet, so you know when it's saturated with water and needs to be wrung out. Once you ring it out, you can go right back to drying your dog. This feature is great for bigger dog breeds. Instead of using 3 or 4 towels all you need is one Absorber to do the job.
Unlike other dog towels, The Absorber isn't made of fabric so hair, fur, or dirt isn't going to stick to it. Just give it a quick rinse and toss it in the washing machine to clean it thoroughly.
The Absorber also makes a great cooling towel on hot summer days or long walks. Just add a little water to the Absorber and drape it around yourself or your dog to instantly cool down body temperature.
What do I do if my Absorber dries out?
A: Great question! If you choose not to store The Absorber in its tube it will dry out. It will be stiff as a board, but not to worry, simply run warm water over it and watch your Absorber come back to life. Rinse and wring it a couple of times and your Absorber will become soft and supple again.
What colors and sizes does The Absorber offer?
A: Thanks for asking! Our regular size at 17" x 27" is our most popular size because it is very easy to work with and it will dry small, medium, and large-sized dogs. This towel comes in 3 colors: scarlet, aqua, and biscuit (tan).
Our Absorber XXL, which is 20" x 32", is perfect for drying larger dogs around 100lbs. It can also be used under your dog's bowl to soak up any excess water. This size is available in 3 colors: blue, scarlet, and biscuit.
Our largest sized towel is our Absorber MAX at 22" x 43". It is designed for BIG dogs around 200lbs or more. It also makes a great no-slip mat in or out of the tub during bath time. The Absorber MAX is available in blue, aqua, biscuit, scarlet, and lilac.
How do I wash The Absorber?
A: For dog owners, the #1 recommended way to wash The Absorber is in the washing machine on a warm cycle with a mild liquid detergent that's free of dyes and fragrances. After the wash cycle, rinse it well and wring out any excess detergent that might be in the towel’s porous material. For a deeper clean that will remove any excess oils, smell, or stains - run through the washing machine with 1 cup of washing soda only (baking soda will work too). Do not bleach or use fabric softener. Don't wash it with any other towels because it can be abrasive on other materials.
If you own a grooming business, you want to make sure that you are completely disinfecting your Absorber towels in between your clients. You can do this one of two ways: (1) Rinse using a diluted vinegar and water solution; (2) Run it through the washing machine using mild detergent. Do not use bleach or any fabric softener because it can clog the towel's pores. Once it's done in the washing machine, you can pull it out and use it on your next client or you can fold it up and store it. There's no need to dry The Absorber. We recommend giving your Absorber towels a deep clean every 2 to 3 weeks by running them through the washing machine with a cup of baking soda.
